Individual CPL Classes

Life is unpredictable. You never know when you may be forced into a position where you have to defend yourself or someone you love. Preparedness is key. The Citizens Defense League CPL Class puts you on the path of preparedness as you become a responsible armed citizen.Having a foundational understanding of firearms, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, de-escalation, and laws regarding firearms and self-defense is incredibly valuable EVEN IF you never carry a handgun.

Private Group CPL Classes

Set up a private group CPL class for your friends, family, co-workers or church.

1-on-1 Coaching

Improve your marksmanship and gun handling skills with private, one-on-one coaching. We will identify deficiencies in your shooting and build upon those areas.

How long are CPL classes?

All CPL classes are at least 8 hours.

Do I get a certificate at the end of the class?

Students receive a certificate after successfully completing the class. The certificate is required to apply for a Concealed Pistol License.

Do I need to pack a lunch?

Lunch is provided with the cost of the CPL class.

I have my own gun. Can I bring it?

Yes. Students are encouraged to bring their own handgun if they know how to safely operate it. All firearms are to remain, encased, unloaded with clear chambers during class.

I don’t have a gun. Am I still allowed to come?

Yes, a handgun will be provided for the live fire portion of the class.

Will I have to fire a gun to successfully complete the class and earn my certificate

Yes. The State of Michigan requires students to have at least three hours of range time and fire at least 30 rounds.

Do I have to carry a pistol after obtaining my CPL?

No. It is your choice to exercise your legal right to conceal carry your firearm or not.
